Perhaps you aren’t sure if you’re ready to enter into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your personal Savior at this time. If so, I invite you to read a little further.
First, I will share a couple of comments and scriptures.
None of us can gain access to heaven on our own merit. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Rom. 3:23
It’s only through Jesus Christ that we can have eternal life. “But God demonstrates his love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom. 5:8
Below, I’ve listed some examples of what becoming a follower of Christ means in practical, every day terms.
Imagine…being in a relationship with the Holy One, praising Him and worshipping Him. “It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High.” Ps. 92:1 “Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker.” Ps. 95:6
Imagine…knowing the God of the universe is personally interested in you. “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.” Isa. 49:16 “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” Matt. 10:30
Imagine…having a Best Friend to talk to 24/7 – someone who understands you better than anyone else. “Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.” Ps. 147:5
Imagine…knowing you have God with you at all times to offer His strength, His peace and His love. “Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings.” Ps. 63:7 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27 “The LORD appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.’” Jer. 31:3
Imagine…having a close relationship with Someone you can trust and will always love you. “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom. 8:38,39
If you’re ready to become a follower of Christ, you may say the following prayer.
I know that I am a sinner and ask You to forgive me for my sins. Please save my soul. Thank You for dying on the cross for me and for giving me eternal life.
In Jesus’ name. Amen.
